Day 60
Jack had a great weekend. He is on very low oxygen settings with only little dips in his oxygen saturation. No major episodes for Jack all weekend! He is still healing very well, but he still has some sore spots like where his hernia was fixed so he gets VERY upset when its diaper changing time. The doctors checked his hernia surgery and they did note that the incision looked red and swollen, but it is nothing to be concerned about. His nurse said that it even looks better today than it did yesterday.
Jack had a bath today as well. We were all set to bathe him in a tiny tub, but then the nurse remembered that he can’t get his sutures wet, so mommy had to give him a sponge bath instead. That was a bit disappointing for us, that he couldn’t go into his tub, but whatever is best for Jack, is best for us. Soon though he will be all healed and we can give him is bath in the tub.
We had our infant CPR and car seat safety classes last week. They are definitely a critical step in making sure that we are ready for Jack’s homecoming, even though they made us a bit nervous
