We traded in our Dodge Caravan for the Mazda5...
I Looooooooooooooove it!!! It's not quite a minivan -- and I saw Consumer Reports refer to it as a "microvan" and it's the best way to describe it. It's got more pickup and drives really nice! The inside is smaller, more like a car but the third row of seats folds easily and gives us the same amount of cargo room we had with the Dodge. The rear doors slide open like a minivan too!
Anyway, just wanted to share the great news! Oh, and when we brought it home we took Jack for a ride and he was so happy...he laughed like he was on an amusement ride! Zoom, zoom!

That sure does look like a fun little vehicle. I love how the rear doors slide back and the 3rd row seat folds down. So, are you feeling like you won't need an accessible vehicle or will this one do the trick? We are in limbo wondering if we should look into an accessible van.
ReplyDeleteAs far as an accessible van we really won't need it unless Jack gets a powerchair at some point. Jack's wheelchair is not approved for riding in it while driving and we'll have his chair for quite some time. His chair is really light weight and comes apart quickly, but I don't even need to break it down it fits right in the van/car as it is. He does't have school today but tomorrow I will take a picture of how it fits! Hope this helped some Mel.
ReplyDeleteYay for new cars! I love the new car smell... and it's just an extra bonus that Jack loves it!
